this aint a scene, it's an arms race - tutorial task
well the weekend is over (and what an awesome weekend it was!! fall out boy concert anyone? but i’ll post another blog about that later) and it’s time for this weeks tutorial task…..dun dun dun well there is actually two parts to the task but i will do the second part first because that will take the longest. the second part of our task today is write a post about how we use new communication technologies to communicate with our family and friends.
one of the answers to that question is that i do use new communication technologies to communicate with my friends and family. i have been using these communication technologies such as msn messenger, myspace, livejournal and many more for awhile now. msn the longest. last year i was one of those people who didn’t want to conform to the myspace trend but i realised it was a good way to get in contact with my friends if they didn’t have credit on their mobiles or if i didn’t have credit. That’s what probably influenced me to create a myspace and plus it’s a really good way to learn about new bands.
i use msn to communicate with my friends and family. most of my family lives out of state or overseas and sometimes msn or email is the best form of communication. it can also be a lot cheaper than a phone call and sometimes writing an email can be more relaxing than talking on the phone. most of the time i am on msn chatting to my friends. these are usually my friends from school and what now but i have a lot of online friends. one i have met in person and she is awesome. we met on a message board and then added each other on msn and just started chatting. we were chatting for like a year before we met up at a concert and we still chat on msn til this day.
i find it really different talking to ‘online’ friends online. you can tell them different things and sometimes i find i have more in common with them. one of my best friends is a girl i’ve never met in person but only talked to online. we met on some site and just started chatting. i think we’ve been friends for like four years now. i’ve never met her in person because she lives in united states and i haven’t been there…..yet. it’s different talking to her than my ‘real’ friends because if i’m having a fight with one of them i can tell her about it and she is able to give me advice.
these communication technologies are a great way to keep in contact or get in contact with someone. they are also great for making new friends or keeping in touch with the old ones. i think i was influenced to use these technologies by my friends and the idea that you can talk to someone without actually having to talk to them. without msn and myspace i wouldn’t be able to talk to some of my family members as often and I wouldn’t be able to talk to some of my friends either as we are all off doing different things. these technologies are a great invention and possibly one of the top ways of communicating.
well there is part two of my task completed………..maybe i should post a song with this blog just to make it a little longer……since i’m still in a fall out boy induced haze here is…
This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race
by Fall Out Boy
I am an arms dealer
Fitting you with weapons in the form of words
And don't really care which side wins
As long as the room keeps singing
That's just the business I'm in, yeah
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
I'm not a shoulder to cry on
But I digress
I'm a leading man
I'm a leading man
And the lies I weave are oh so intricate,
Oh so intricate[x2]
I wrote the gospel on giving up(You look pretty sinking)
I wrote the gospel on giving up(You look pretty sinking)
But the real bombshells have already sunk(Prima donnas of the gutter)
At night we're painting your trash gold while you sleep
Crashing not like hips or cars
No, more like p-p-p-parties
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This bandwagon's full
Please, catch another
I'm a leading man
And the lies I weave are oh so intricate,
Oh so intricate[x2]
Yeahh…Whoa-ohh
All the boys who the dance floor didn't love
And all the girls whose lips couldn't move fast enough
Sing, until your lungs give out
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race(Now you)
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race(Wear out the groove)
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race(Sing out loud)
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race(Oh, oh)
This ain't a scene, it's a goddamned arms race
I'm a leading man
And the lies
I weave are oh so intricate,
Oh so intricate[x2]
okay until the next blog......
carrisa.
